Run The Jewels set the tone by opening the night with a powerful set including performances of “Legend Has It,” “Blockbuster Night Pt. 1” and “Thursday in the Danger Room” among others.

Leading up to DIRECTV Super Saturday Night, Foo Fighters released a brand new short film written and directed by Foo Fighters’ own Dave Grohl, featuring Curt Menefee, Terry Bradshaw and Michael Strahan—and of course some more familiar faces—in a hilarious time warping homage that presents the familiar Foo Fighters comedic chops in a classic 1970s cinematic style and story.

Foo Fighters opened the show with classics “All My Life,” “Learn to Fly” and “The Pretender” and closed out the night with “Best of You” and “Everlong”.

Zac Brown and Tom Morello surprised the audience in the house and watching at home as they came on stage to perform alongside their friends Foo Fighters.

Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins brought out his idol, Queen’s Roger Taylor, to take over on drums as the group performed Queen’s classic hit “Under Pressure.”

Perry Farrell joined Foo Fighters, Brown and Morello on stage for a powerful rendition of Jane’s Addictions “Mountain Song.”
