Matt Lambert is the singer, multi-instrumentalist, and principal songwriter behind Night Cleaner, and one-third of Atlanta’s psychedelic post-punk outfit All the Saints. He’s also a man of impeccable fashion sense. For this installment of the CL music podcast, Lambert stopped by Short Notice Studio to talk about clothes, music, and his upcoming monthly residency that’s kicking off at 529 on Tuesday, March 19.

Over the last decade, Lambert and his musical cohorts in All the Saints and Night Cleaner have settled into a creative flow that exists outside of the homogenizing influence of social media and internet-driven musical trends. What these groups lack in immediacy they more than make up for with pure heart, focussing on fiery, often experimental sounds.

For the foreseeable future, Night Cleaner is curating the lineup on every third Tuesday of the month at 529. Beyond the musical performances, Lambert has a few creative format busters he hopes to incorporate into the monthly series. In the meantime, press play and listen to the conversation in which Lambert talks about his musical history, philosophy, the new releases he has in the works, and mixing songs in his car.

Podcast production by Jacob Chisenhall.

Night Cleaner plays 529 on Tues., March 19, with Solar Flower, Frankie Broyles, and Celines. $5. 9 p.m. 529 Flat Shoals Ave. 404-228-6769. www.529atlanta.com.
