Atlanta-based aircraft manufacturer Hermeus has received $60 million from the U.S. Air Force to finance testing of a hypersonic jet that could fly from New York to London in under an hour. The projected top speed of the Quarterhorse is Mach 5.5 — or 4,219 miles per hour — and testing of a small-scale version is set for 2023. robbreport.com
