Georgia aerospace startup Hermeus is finally letting the public have a glimpse of its hypersonic aircraft prototype. “Progress (is) being made on hardware development and integration,” COO Skyler Shuford said this week, adding that the company “designed, manufactured, and integrated the aircraft, from nothing but an outer shape, in four months.” The Mach 5-capable jet known as QuarterHorse has a “proprietary turbine-based combined cycle engine” that is part of the company’s plan to “develop the world’s fastest reusable aircraft.” thedefensepost.com
