Pakistan opens consulate here to accommodate new residents

Prime Minister Imran Khan of Pakistan has announced his country will establish a consulate in Atlanta due partly to demand by the 35,000 expatriates who live here. The country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson said matters related to Atlanta are currently dealt with by its consulate in Houston, which covers 10 states and almost 500,000 Pakistanis. “Hence, in order to facilitate the diaspora, establishment of a consulate general has been proposed.
