NEWS BRIEF: Buckhead CEO falsely claims arrested man is Dickens’ new chief of staff
White sticks other foot in mouth
Buckhead “cityhood” instigator Bill White is using the arrest of a former staffer for Andre Dickens to lambast the new Atlanta mayor for what he calls “a corrupt mindset and carelessness,” while boosting his own agenda of attempting to create a separate city made up of the north Atlanta shopping district and neighborhood. Ali Amin Carter of Douglasville was detained on Dec. 29 at Atlanta’s airport on an outstanding felony warrant for making terroristic threats, police say. White claimed in a press release that Carter is the incoming chief of staff for the new Dickens administration, but a city spokesperson denied that. In a statement from a city official it was clarified, “While Mr. Carter previously worked for Councilmember Dickens, he is not part of the Mayor’s administration and is no longer an employee of the City of Atlanta.” fox5atlanta.com
