Former U.S. senator and gubernatorial candidate David Perdue tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday after speaking at a mostly maskless campaign stop in downtown Atlanta. Spokesperson Jenni Sweat said Perdue is vaccinated against the respiratory virus and wasn’t yet experiencing symptoms. Perdue lost reelection to Democrat Jon Ossoff in last year’s runoff and is vying to unseat fellow Republican Brian Kemp in November. abcnews.go.com
