A high school senior at Monroe Comprehensive in Albany has her choice of 48 colleges — after being turned down by Mercer University. Kenyari Sawyer, 17, has also been offered a total of $600,000 in scholarships. “After I got denied, I just thought I might not get accepted (anywhere). It was a setback,” she told WSB-TV. She has since been accepted into Howard University, Spelman College, and the University of Georgia, among many, many others. Sawyer will be majoring in criminal justice and wants to become a defense attorney. wsbtv.com
