NEWS BRIEF: Cobb schools must crack down on racism, students say
“We'll come back and we'll make as much noise as we have to and get into good trouble…”
Students at Campbell High School are demanding stiffer penalties for racist remarks and behavior on campus. Speaking at a Board of Education meeting in March, the students told the Cobb County School District to increase the minimum disciplinary action for harassment to 10 days of out-of-school suspension.
Students and parents have routinely criticized the district for inadequately addressing incidents of racism and anti-semitism that have been reported for years. “We'll come back and we'll make as much noise as we have to and get into good trouble to make sure the changes that need to be implemented are implemented,” said senior Radiya Ajibade. “Enough is enough.” axios.com
