NEWS BRIEF: Hundreds of atheists coming to Atlanta on Easter weekend
Atheists look for justice on day marking resurrection
This year’s national convention for atheists will be held April 14 through April 17 at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel. About 500 of them are expected to attend the gathering in Cobb County.
Former pastor and author Dave Warnock will be a guest speaker, as will Mandisa Thomas, founder of the Atlanta-based Black Nonbelievers. “We care about economic justice and reproductive justice issues and making sure the laws reflect equal treatment for everyone, including atheists,” she said. Others on the schedule include secular activist Aron Ra, community organizer Jen Scott, podcaster Noah Lugeons, and civil rights advocate Sam McGuire. ajc.com
