NEWS BRIEF: Buckhead should remain part of Atlanta, new poll says
Almost every demographic’ has sense
Results of a poll commissioned by a group opposed to Buckhead cityhood say 61 percent of resident voters do not want the community to secede from the rest of Atlanta.
The Committee for a United Atlanta announced June 9 that just 30 percent of voters would favor Buckhead becoming its own city. “Further, almost every demographic group would stay in Atlanta, which includes 56 percent of white voters and 86 percent of Black voters,” said committee co-chairs Edward Lindsey and Linda Klein in a statement. “Every age group opposes cityhood, as well as men and women,” reporternewspapers.net
