Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has been appointed to a senior role in the Biden Administration, a White House official confirmed late Tuesday. Bottoms, 52, is to become director of the Office of Public Engagement and will be involved in high-level planning and strategy sessions in the West Wing ahead of the midterm elections, according to Axios.
Bottoms was an adviser to Joe Biden early in his 2020 campaign and her name was on his shortlist for vice president. After choosing Kamala Harris, he offered Bottoms the Small Business Administration leadership, which she declined. reuters.com
