NEWS BRIEF: Atlanta Children’s Shelter gets refurbishment from volunteers
A ‘major impact’ made
More than two dozen volunteers from BOMA Georgia and David Weekley Homes went to the Atlanta Children’s Shelter on June 24 to tackle repair jobs throughout the facility that included painting offices, organizing a donations closet, rebuilding pantry shelving and assembling a new toy shed for the playground.
“The efforts of these hard-working volunteers made a major impact, providing savings of $7,500 for ACS,” a July 6 press release stated. “This money-saving support allows ACS to focus less on maintenance issues and more on providing family services, including day care, to families experiencing homelessness with young children under the age of five.” Details: homeaidatlanta.org
