A new solar power microgrid is being installed at Porsche’s Atlanta headquarters that will represent a CO2 reduction equivalent to avoiding 3.6 million miles of driving by an average car. The German manufacturer this week signed a 25-year deal with Cherry Street Energy to build and operate the array of panels that will provide “a significant portion of the luxury automaker’s annual electricity needs,” the company announced, and help reduce its carbon emissions by 3.2 million pounds annually. According to Cherry Street Energy, the move will generate an estimated 2,050 MWh annually — enough to power more than 190 average homes for one year. Details: electrek.co
