ONE NIGHT ONLY: Hunxho’s debut headlining tour kicks off in Atlanta this month. PHOTO CREDIT: @eathumans

Hunxho, Coca-Cola Roxy — In the matter of just a few years, Hunxho has grown from a local sensation into a tried and true rap and R&B hitmaker with undeniable staying power. Since his breakout with his 2022 mixtape Street Poetry, Hunxho has been building quite the catalog for himself with fan-favorite tracks like “Highly Performing,” “By Tomorrow,” and “Yes” as well as potential crossover hits like the Summer Walker-assisted single “Your Friends.” Now, for the first time in his career, Hunxho is embarking on a North American tour as a headlining artist, and he is slated to kickstart his One Night Only Tour in Atlanta on Friday, May 10. Last year, Hunxho performed a special one-night show at the Eastern in front of a sold-out crowd, and he memorialized that pivotal moment in his career by releasing Hunxho: One Night Only Setlist on streaming services. Listen to that project for a crash course on Hunxho’s music, and get ready to see the young star-in-the-making when he hits town.

GONNA GO: serpentwithfeet is hitting the road in support of his third studio album, ‘GRIP.’ PHOTO CREDIT: Braylen Dion

serpentwithfeet, MiLES, Loft — If you’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to serpentwithfeet’s music, then you already know that you have to see the Baltimore-bred artist live in concert. Always one to sing and dance to the beat of his own drum, serpentwithfeet’s impressive little catalog is filled to the brim with songs that feel too big to solely live on DSPs. From the theatrical and vocally acrobatic early cuts on his debut album soil to the gorgeous and airy ballads on his sophomore outing DEACON to the sensual grooves on his latest studio effort GRIP, there is so much good music for serpentwithfeet to pull from for the setlist of his upcoming GRIP Tour. And as if a serpentwithfeet show at an intimate venue like the Loft couldn’t get any promising, the GRIP artist will be taking rising Atlanta singer, songwriter, and musician MiLES along with him on the road as opening support. A product of Charles Drew Charter School, MiLES is currently a Stanford University student, but his studies haven’t stopped him from dropping ambitious projects like Baby Blue (2023) and this year’s Life Thru New Lens. Check him out when he opens up for serpentwithfeet.

bbymutha, Fly Anakin, Hell — No, you’re not dreaming — bbymutha is officially back with new music and a sprawling 25-date headlining tour. Several years removed from her 2017 viral breakout hit “Rules,” the Chattanooga-born and Atlanta-based artist continues to prove herself as one of the South’s hardest emcees, and her penchant for dishing out slick rhymes over some of the most bizarre beats you’ve likely ever heard is on full display on her latest LP, titled sleep paraylsis. The 11-track album serves as her debut release on indie record label True Panther, and this month, bbymutha is bringing her sleep paralysis stories to Hell for thrilling concert alongside her close collaborator Fly Anakin. Secure your tickets and get ready for one of the best underground rap shows this month.

KARATE: Come kick it with Cam The Artisan when he opens up for Dear Silas on May 17. PHOTO CREDIT: Braxton Prince @itsgroovy_

Dear Silas, Thomas Austin & Cam The Artisan, Smith’s Olde Bar — There’s a concert for every occasion or mood you might be in. Some are great for when you need to lose your mind in the mosh pit while others are great for when you really need a good cry. Then there are concerts like Dear Silas’s upcoming show at Smith’s Olde Bar. The Jackson, Mississippi native’s show is one of them ones that will leave you feeling charged up and rejuvenated. Fresh off the release of his back-to-back EPs On Read and 601 DEGREEZ, Dear Silas is as brilliant as ever, with music that slaps just as much as it fills you up with confidence and joy. The same can be said of his openers, too. Silas has tapped his fellow Mississippian Thomas Austin and Atlanta’s own Cam The Artisan for opening support, and sure enough, both of their latest projects — DON’T LOOK BACK and Art Samples Vol. 2, respectively — are just as bright, reassuring, and ambitious. Pull up for what’s sure to be the sleeper concert of May, and thank me later. VIP and meet-and-greet tickets are available.
