OLD FOURTH WARD SKETE PARK: It was a Big Night Out for Cake and Atlantans at the Rival Entertainment event.

Congratulations to the fiercely independent Rival Entertainment, the Atlanta-based concert and production company now celebrating twenty years of bringing music to Atlanta. Principals Josh Antenucci and Lucy Freas, along with a passionate team of individuals, boldly go where no one has gone before, in bringing spectacular, one-of-a-kind music events to our city, building stages wherever they are needed to keep the music live. Fresh. And in your face.

As Freas notes on her Facebook page, with the Cake Big Night Out concert at Old Fourth Ward Skate Park still in her rear view mirror, “20 years of doing this. I personally think we are pretty damn great at it. I do my thing. My partner does his thing. We have this amazing team that does all the things and we make it happen. Love my team Rival so so much and so proud of all y’all. Just a sold out concert amidst a hurricane. No big deal!

Maybe not for Rival, but for Atlantans, that Cake Big Night Out was a big deal. As have been three nights of OutKast at Centennial Park, Foo Fighters at wherever the hell they damn well wanted to play, ONE Musicfest, Highball 2023 at Pullman Yards in the Pratt Pullman District, and other outside the traditional music venue concerts the Rival gang has pulled together.

Keep on rockin’! We’re all looking forward to what you have in store for us these next twenty years! —CL—
