Plastic Reimagined: Material Agency & Circular Design at Reeves House Visual Arts Center explores the “afterlife” of plastic, shifting focus from what the material is to what it has the potential to become.

Developed within a graduate design-research studio at the Georgia Institute of Technology, the exhibition treats plastic waste as a site for architectural and material experimentation. Students sourced discarded materials such as HDPE and PLA from campus makerspaces and local recycling streams, transforming them through a combination of hands-on fabrication and computational design.

Through processes of grinding, reprocessing, and reconstitution, the work evolves from raw waste into complex spatial forms, positioning plastic as a performative and adaptive medium. Blending art, design, and technology, the exhibition highlights new possibilities for circular design and material reuse.
