I SPY! Walter Wick's Hidden Wonders

The High Museum of Art presents a major exhibition devoted to photographer Walter Wick, featuring constructed miniature environments, large-scale photographs, behind-the-scenes materials, and interactive experiences.

I Spy! Walter Wick’s Hidden Wonders, High Museum — The High is presenting a profusion of works by artist and photographer Walter Wick, known for the ‘I Spy’ series of picture books created with writer Jean Marzollo. Other books of his include ‘Can You See What I See’ and ‘Walter Wick's Optical Tricks’ as well as ‘A Drop of Water: A Book of Science and Wonder.’ The exhibition will burrow into Wick’s favorite themes of riddles, puzzles, miniature worlds, mathematical curiosities, three-dimensional models and visual illusions. Rand Suffolk, the High’s director, pointed out that since their children’s book series began in 2013, this exhibition is the first to feature photography as the primary medium. — Kevin C. Madigan
