MONSTERAMA CON: Celebrating 13 big years Aug. 7-9
Monsterama Con returns this year for a star-studded weekend of celebrities and surprises. First and foremost is the Mathesontennial, a celebration of 100 years of Richard Matheson, the fantasy, horror, and science fiction author and screenwriter. Perhaps best known for I Am Legend, the horror novel that has been adapted for the screen three times, he also penned 16 episodes for the The Twilight Zone, as well as contributing to Star Trek, while the films Somewhere in Time and Duel are both based on his works.
The 60th anniversary of the daytime television series Dark Shadows, 1966 - 2026, will also be celebrated. First airing on June 27, 1966, the unforgettable soap opera would introduce Jonathan Frid as reluctant vampire Barnabas Collins on April 18, 1967, igniting a phenomenon that still reverberates today.
If you've looked over the schedule of guests appearing and taking part in discussions, know they will also be set up with their own tables in the showroom, giving you the chance to meet 'n' greet, geek out, and get those selfies with those whom you choose! Me, I'll be making a bee line to Madeline Brumby's table, if Shane Morton doesn't get in the way! Second on the list is scoring an autographed copy of Classic Monsters, Modern Art by Anthony Taylor. Yes, I know there are bigger and more popular names appearing, but you gotta support your homies!
Events will take place at the Atlanta Marriott Northeast/Emory Center, 2000 Century Blvd. NE, Atlanta, GA, 30345.
