ooking to enjoy the last days of summer? Bring some friends and loved ones and settle in for our “French Flick and Picnic Night”, a family-friendly event at the Gate Museum near Atlantic Station!
Schedule
6:30 p.m: A light French-style picnic will be offered to all attendees who purchased the movie package.
7:30 p.m: Feature film presentation begins (running time: 1h40min)
French-style Picnic
Award-winning Chef Karl from Atlanta’s newest French bakery Cafe Vendôme will prepare a picnic box including a homemade Quiche with a side dish and a scrumptious pastry (Madeleine, Financier or Cannele).
Fresh fruit and an assortment of French cheeses will be offered during the picnic. French wine will be served to guests over 21 and water and soft drinks will be available.
Seating will be available on a first-come first-served basis beginning 1 hour before the screening (6:30pm). Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and/or chairs (a limited amount of courtesy blankets will be available). In case of rain, the event will be cancelled and you will receive prior email notification.
The Movie
THE ARTIST (PG-13) - A silent movie star meets a young dancer, but the arrival of talking pictures sends their careers in opposite directions.
This 2011 French romantic comedy-drama received highly positive reviews and was nominated for six Golden Globes and won three: Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy, Best Original Score, and Best Actor - Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for Dujardin (France, 2011, 1h 40min).

Can I purchase my ticket at the door?For practical purposes, payments will not be accepted at the door.
What should I bring to the event?You are welcome to bring blankets or chairs and any extra food (a light picnic will be provided with drinks).
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?Yes, or go paperless: use your cell phone to pull up your ticket!
Are IDs required and is there an age limit to enter this event?IDs are not required to get in but keep in mind that the movie is rated PG-13 and silent (with English intertitles). We think parents know best so bring your children if you think they are old enough and likely to enjoy it!
