The October event of this poetry reading series, held on the 2nd Friday of each month, features poet Lane Young, whose poems have appeared in 360 Degrees, Potpourri, Lilliput Review, MOBIUS, The Sierra Nevada Review, The Shaky Table, COVER Magazine, The Journal of Poetry Therapy, bluemilk, Postal Meters, Java Monkey Speaks, and An Anthology: Volume I and in four poetry chapbooks: Difficult Desires, Found Objects, The Failed Cynic, and Scattered Type: Old and New Poems. Editor of Calamaro, a print poetry magazine founded in 2014, Lane has hosted the monthly poetry readings at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center for over a decade, and has lived in the Atlanta area all of her life, with the exception of four years at Grinnell College in Iowa. An open mic session will follow the first set of readings, providing local poets an opportunity to share their work. The readings may contain adult content and language.
