JORTSFEST has remained true to its motto since 2013: always free, always all ages, always accessible. This year, organizers Maria Sotnikova and Carter Sutherland not only covered production costs with their Kickstarter funds, but purchased a ramp that venues throughout the city can use to increase their accessibility for performers and patrons year-round. The summer ‘16 lineup provides as much incentive to attend as the event provides opportunity — look out for Awful Records rapper/producer ETHEREAL, experimental punks Nihilist Cheerleader (who played Irrelevant Music Fest earlier this summer), and garage-pop space enthusiasts Pinktrest. Truly a rare treat of its kind.
