Literature is Alive: All Fiction All Feeling
Sunday October 2, 2016 08:00 PM EDT
Cost: Free,
From the venue:
Created by Emory’s Campus Life, Literature is Alive presents a reading series to celebrate and reconsider the pleasures of literature at the university level. Not limited to bookworms or even students, Literature is Alive provides a space for book lovers and other regular ol’ folks to ponder how we think about literature and interact with texts and how we’ll bring literature into a new light in the future. Each meeting, Literature is Alive features authors who share their own experiences with writing and reading by inverting literature and performance. For the first session of the semester, Literature is Alive goes all fiction with 2013 PEN International New Voices Award winner Masande Ntshanga, Guggenheim Fellow Claire Vaye Watkins, Emory fiction teacher Kalpana Narayanan, and fiction author Lydia Conklin.
