A Christmas Carol

From the venue:There have been many interpretations of Charles Dickens’ Christmas classic A Christmas Carol. Film adaptations began as early as 1901, and the role of Christmas-hating Ebenezer Scrooge has been played by greats like Patrick Stewart, George C. Scott, Michael Caine, Bill Murray, and ... Jim Carrey. The Muppets, Mister Magoo, and even the Flinstones have all had takes on the heartwarming — and at times truly sinister — tale. But no one does it in ATL quite like Alliance Theatre. For its 27th stage production of A Christmas Carol, acclaimed Atlanta actor David de Vries (pictured above) returns as Scrooge, a bitter old man hellbent on ruining his employee Bob Cratchit’s holiday spirit. But will three apparitions of the past, present, and future get ol’ Bah Humbug to change his tune? Perhaps his heart will grow three sizes this year. Oh, wait. $10-$77.
