AARP Magazine’s recent cover boy and MusiCares’ 2015 Person of the Year refuses to become more predictable as he moves into his mid-70s. The Bard of Hibbing has been including only one track from his recent, well-received Shadows in the Night album of standards made famous by Frank Sinatra. Bob Dylan’s voice is little more than a phlegmy croak these days, and current set lists feature a handful of chestnuts but primarily delve into deeper catalog tracks, and he won’t talk to the audience. But the road-hardened backing group is superb, and Dylan remains one of the few touring artists from his generation proving nightly why he deserves his living legend status.
