From the venue:
BlackPoet Ventures presents a stage adaptation of Ed Pavlic’s Winners Have Yet To Be Announced: A Song For Donny Hathaway, blending spoken word, live music, dance, song, and multimedia. Featuring a cast from Arizona and Georgia, Winners tells a reimagined story of a ’70s soul musician struggling with paranoid schizophrenia through the reminiscing of fans, family, and friends. While his ultimate demise is death, he leaves a legacy of music and hope behind. Pavlic is Professor of English and Creative Writing at University of Georgia.
