From the venue:

Aku Kadogo will host “Salt City: An Afrofuturistic Choreopoem. Directed by Kadogo and written by renowned poet Jessica Care Moore, the choreopoem, a form of dramatic expression that combines poetry, dance, music, and song, will be performed with the help of students from Spelman and Morehouse colleges. Set sometime in the past in the salt mines below the city of Detroit, the production goes “black to the future” to 2071 Detroit. The music, curated by DJ Kai Alcé, is inspired by Underground Resistance (Mad Mike Banks and Jeff Mills) and the Techno music scene from Detroit.
