St. Louis singer/songwriter Pokey LaFarge has seen his share of big stages. He has toured with Jack White who produced his 2011 EP Chittlin’ Cookin’ Time in Cheatham County, and released it along with a self-titled full-length via Third Man Records. LaFarge has played plenty of festivals as well. His latest album Something In the Water marks his seventh full-length and his debut with Rounder Records. The label is a fitting home for LaFarge’s fusion of country, jazz, down-home blues, and Western swing, but his natural habitat will always be the stage, where his glowing demeanor and energetic delivery are matched by a musicianship that proves he’s as much an entertainer as he is an artist.
