Cost: $10
From the venue:
Over the past two years, Angel Olsen has come into her own as an artist. The Midwestern songwriter, who occasionally plays alongside Louisville folk artist Will Oldham, caught the attention of music fans with her breakout 2012 record, Half Way Home. Olsen’s beautiful, haunting croon, one that’s reminiscent of French singer Edith Piaf, is at the core of that record. On her Jagjaguwar debut, Burn Your Fire for No Witness, she’s surrounded herself with an indie-rock outfit that complements her stunning and heartrending singing vocals. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Olsen latch on with a wider audience in the near future. She’s also the kind of artist you want to see up close in an intimate setting. In other words: Don’t miss this show.
