From the venue:When he’s not fronting the eccentric, literature- and history-obsessed folk rock outfit the Decemberists, Colin Meloy records and performs stripped-down numbers using nothing more than his voice and an acoustic guitar. His repertoire largely features reinterpretations of cuts from throughout the Decemberists’ catalog, but Meloy gives a nod to his main musical influences as well, pulling out covers of deep cuts by R.E.M., the Smiths, Fleetwood Mac, et al. Meloy now brings his one-man folk pop show to Atlanta Fri., Nov. 8. With Eleanor Friedberger.
