From the venue:

Exhibit runs September 28 through December 15, 2013.Shadow Circus brings to light the inner stories and dialogues we have with ourselves. Stingle, of Atlanta, and Glessner, of Philadelphia, use art to depict struggle and transition. Stingle combines hand-built porcelain figures with discarded relics to create a narrative that engages the viewer in this age of individual isolation. Glessner's fiber and encaustic paintings are richly layered, requiring the viewer to go deep within to understand what our shadow side is trying to tell us.
