Resilience doesn’t mean to endure, but to recover quickly. With increased environmental, economic and social instability in the 21st century, how can cities prevent and build resiliency to acute shocks and chronic stresses in urban development?
Since 2017, Stephanie Stuckey, the Chief Resilience Officer for the City of Atlanta, has been tasked with a daunting assignment in developing a city-wide resilience strategy. With the help of 100 Resilient Cities pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation, Stuckey is focused on combating physical, economic and social changes to Atlanta, but how does the city’s resilience compare to others on a global scale?
