Get Your Ruth On! Electrifying Dissent Collars
From the venue:
Dissent collars, popularized by the notorious RBG (Ruth Bader Ginsberg), proclaim her dissenting opinion on supreme court majority decisions. After taking inspiration from dissent collars the dissent collars made by Roxana Alger Geffen on view in our Making Change exhibition, we’ll be creating our own. The material? Transcripts of supreme court decisions, of course!
We’ll craft our paper collars and then use innovative materials like conductive paint & LED lights to to make them sparkle and glow.
Appropriate for ages 18+.
Participation and Materials Fee: $40 for non-members, $35 for MODA members. This fee covers everything you need to create and bring home your own dissent collar: supreme court rulings, collar backing felt, clasps, conductive paint, coin cell batteries, and LEDs. It also includes admission to MODA’s current exhibition, Making Change: The Art and Craft of Activism.
