Michael Shaffer, historian and lecturer, will speak about the Civil War diary of Thomas J. Colley on Wednesday, November 14 at Barrington Hall in Roswell.
Thomas W. Colley served in one of the most active and famous units in the Civil War, the 1st Virginia Cavalry, which fought in battles from First Manassas/Bull Run to the defense of Petersburg.
The "In Memory of Self and Comrades: Thomas Wallace Colley’s Civil War Recollections" lecture will be held on Wednesday, November 14 in the barn activity room of Barrington Hall. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. The lecture begins at 7:00 p.m. The suggested admission is $5.00. Complimentary light refreshments will be available.
