Super Saturday feat. Foo Fighters and Run The Jewels
Before Super Bowl LIII kicks off at Mercedez-Benz Stadium, the DIRECTV Super Saturday Night Party will start the weekend off right. Atlanta promoter Rival Entertainment booked Foo Fighters and Run The Jewels for an rare intimate performance in a temporary Atlantic Station venue constructed just for the event. Foo Fighters quickly outgrew their intentional garage-band sound, selling out arenas worldwide as frontman Dave Grohl skyrocketed to rock god status. The group’s 2017 album, Concrete and Gold, topped charts in a dozen countries and snagged a “Best Rock Song” Grammy Award for for its anthem “Run.” It’s their most polished and accessible effort to date, but maintains Grohl’s signature high-octane execution of thematic classic rock style. They’ll share the stage with half-local rap duo Run The Jewels, led by Atlanta hero Killer Mike and New York’s El-P. The two legendary acts will take the stage of the new three-tiered venue at Atlantic Station, built by producer Jack Murphy and AT&T. The venue is destined for destruction soon after the performance, making this a truly exclusive party.
