Lace up your boots! U.S. Bombs are here to prove that punk’s not dead. Gravel-voiced frontman and professional skateboarder Duane Peters hasn’t lost his touch, sounding gruffer than ever as he belts out tracks like “Riot Sirens” and “A-Bomb Story.” The Bombs may have slowed down a touch and incorporated more pop, but if anything this only improves their rousing, sing-along brand of punk. Total Chaos, on the other hand, hasn’t slowed down since they started in ’89. They’re mean, leather-clad, and in your face, and if their distorted street-punk assault doesn’t blow your mohawk back, you’re just jaded. — Ryan Bell
