To Believe (Ninja Tune) is The Cinematic Orchestra’s first new recording in over 10 years, but it feels like founding member Jason Swinscoe hasn’t missed a beat, picking up some choice collaborators including Dominic Smith, Roots Manuva, Heidi Vogel, and Miguel Atwood-Ferguson. The group’s signature sound still sizzles with smooth nu-soul, orchestral acid jazz, DJ breakbeats, voices from across the globe, soaring strings, and of course, gorgeous cinematic soundtracks.
