From the venue:
Fresh from his London debut where he was billed as one of the top 5 artists to watch in the London Evening Standard, contemporary artist, Nicholas Kontaxis brings his vibrant solo exhibition “Come Here” to Atlanta this October at the Anne O Art gallery in Buckhead.
The 23-year-old artist has taken the art scene by storm with sell-out openings and commissions for big brands Adidas and Coachella. Kontaxis’ works adorn the walls of celebrity residences and major companies. Private collectors include tennis legend Roger Federer and former Google CEO Eric Schmidt.
“Come Here” is a polychromatic invitation to experience the works of Nicholas Kontaxis. His deft use of a variety of palette knives leads the viewer through joyful twists and turns that end in a textured explosion of rich colors that drip in optimism. Nicholas’ playful naming of the works soften the emotional, sparkling expression of struggles overcome.
Born with an extensive brain tumor, Nicholas has suffered over 50,000 seizures throughout his life and has been diagnosed with a form or autism. Despite his condition and limited speech, Nicholas has uncovered an incredible artistic gift revealed through his work with acrylics on canvas. Nicholas’ paintings are bold, colorful and full of energy - a manifestation of his deepest thoughts, forms and feelings.
“Come Here” is a must-see show for Atlanta art lovers! Opening Reception features wine, beer and catering by Alon’s.
