Felabrations around the world are annual festivals of music and arts commemorating the life and times of Nigeria’s foremost musical icon, the late great Fela Kuti. The world’s largest Felabration takes place in Nigeria. The largest and longest-running Felabration in the US takes place in Atlanta. Known as SHAKARA, it’s spearheaded by Aishah Rashied Hyman and DJ Kemit (Spread Love). The 12th annual SHAKARA is set to shine a light on the African Diaspora through forward-thinking music, films, art, plus an indie craft market, and holistic wellness suites.
