23rd Polar Bear Swim

Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club, a 501(c)(3) organization promoting healthy outdoor activity for all ages since the 1996 Olympic Games, is preparing once again to host the most popular public event we hold each year; the annual Polar Bear Swim!  Now in its 23rd year it is time to do something different...
The event has been off the docks of the Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club.  This year, in partnership with the Lake Lanier Olympic Park and the City of Gainesville, it is a Winter Beach Bash! 

Participants will Run away from 2020 in groups, into the chilly water from the beach at the Park. 
From our youth Beginner Racing League and Summer PaddleCamps, to our Recreational and Sprint programs (including having at least one of our athletes competing in the 2021 Olympics who has already qualified), we rely on the generosity of businesses in our community.  
Members of Team USA will be on hand!

We will have food trucks to help participants re-warm, games and awards for categories such as youngest, oldest, largest family group, and relay team awards as well as a marshmallow snowman building contest.
