National Poetry Month Celebration

In celebration of National Poetry Month, an observance that uplifts poetry’s role in our shared culture, The Wren’s Nest will host a special reading and performance by the 2022 National Endowment for the Arts Poetry Out Loud Georgia State Champion Amaya A. McGee and Akbar Imhotep, a 2012 Governor’s Arts & Humanities awardee, actor, puppeteer, poet, and professional storyteller who has been a dear friend of The Wren’s Nest since 1985. The performance will take place at 1:00 p.m., with historic house tours available before and after. Copies of Akbar Imhotep’s most recent poetry collection, 70@70, will be available for purchase and signing. Join us for an afternoon of poetry, stories, history, and light refreshments!
