CRITIC’S PICK: Brooklyn-based Glaspy’s fine new album, Echo the Diamond, returns to the edgy, blues guitar-based rock she veered from on her last release. It’s tough and poetic and her voice, which ranges from sweet to sticky, delivers these rugged songs with authority and intensity. Opener Kearney is best known as multi-instrumentalist for arena headliners Lake Street Dive, but her own albums are darker and more haunted than the pop/soul of that band.
