CRITIC’S PICK: It’s singer/songwriter/keyboardist Potter’s “The Mother Road Tour,” named after the title of her new album with songs inspired by a cross country drive from California back to her Vermont home. Potter’s voice and approach is modeled on Sheryl Crow, as she writes hooky tunes with bluesy undercurrents. A few songs get roughed up, which suits her well, and Potter’s tendency to get a little slick should be tempered and toughened in the live setting. Get there early to cheer on local soul/blues up-and-comer Eddie 9V as opener. — Hal Horowitz
