Doobie Brothers, Robert Cray Band, Ameris Bank Amphitheatre—Michael McDonald is back with the Doobies for this return stint. That means the set features both the harder rocking “China Grove” groovers from founding member Tom Johnston as well as the slicker “What a Fool Believes” pop McDonald delivered as the band shifted gears later in their career. In other words, everyone leaves happy. Opening is soul/blues veteran Robert Cray which makes this a particularly impressive evening. — Hal Horowitz
