CRITIC’S PICK: Since 1998, frontman and singer/guitarist Mato Nanji has been keeping the flame burning for this quartet of blues-rocking American Indians from South Dakota’s Yankton Indian Reservation. A clutch of solid Stevie Ray Vaughan-inspired albums for the Vanguard label put them in the spotlight for a short time, but new material has been slow in coming of late. Regardless, Nanji has a compelling voice, plays fiery leads, and writes strong tunes for his genre. — Hal Horowitz
