CRITIC’S PICK
Sat., Sep. 19 — Sun., Jan. 24
Sergio Suárez: Anamnesis, Carlos Museum — Mexican visual artist and printmaker Sergio Suárez shares his exhibition Anamnesis (from the Greek word for “remembrance”) alongside the Carlos Museum’s cache of indigenous art of the Americas, Greek and Roman art, and works on paper. “Through print, sculpture, and ceramic, interspersed through the permanent collection galleries, Suárez explores the passage and presence of time on a cosmic, mythic, and intimately human scale,” a Carlos rep says. His work has been assessed by the Financial Times, Artillery, Burnaway, Art Papers, and New American Paintings. Based in Atlanta, Suárez, 31, obtained a BA in 2021 from Georgia State University’s Ernest G. Welch School of Art and Design. — Kevin C. Madigan
