At the Wedding
CRITIC’S PICK: At The Wedding, Out Front Theatre - Wedding days are fraught with angst at the best of times. Carlo, our volatile heroine in this romantic comedy, is reacting to her ex-girlfriend’s nuptials to a man by crashing their ceremony. She promises herself she won’t get inebriated, or upset anyone, or attempt to reclaim the bride. What are the chances she’ll pull that off?
Bryna Turner’s new play launches Out Front’s 2025 season and runs through mid-February. The cast is led by Katie Wickline as Carlo and the play is directed by Jennifer Alice Acker. ‘At the Wedding’ premiered off-Broadway in March 2022 and was a Critic’s Pick in the New York Times.
“It’s not a traditional romcom,” Turner told Studio Theatre. “It’s a little more realistic; it’s a bit more messy-life stuff. Hopefully people feel like Carlo came thinking she wanted something, and maybe she didn’t get what she wanted, but maybe she actually got what she needed.” - Kevin C. Madigan”
