CRITIC’S PICK: Wire & Wood Festival, Downtown Alpharetta—Two days, six stages, over thirty rootsy acts and it’s all free. The annual festival, now in its 11th iteration, gets better every year. This time out the headliners are blue-eyed soulman Neal Francis and late 90s folk/pop-ers Sixpence None the Richer (who have released new singles as recently as last month). But the best part is hearing a new, often local, act in an intimate outdoor space that may soon graduate to larger stages. Blues fans will want to circle Drew Ashworth and Blue Velvet Atlanta on their grids. — Hal Horowitz
