Lunar New Year Festival at Stone Mountain Park

CRITIC’S PICK: Sat., Jan. 25 - Sun., Feb. 9 - Lunar New Year Festival, Stone Mountain Park - The third annual festival, celebrating the Year of the Snake, honors New Year traditions of Asian countries that fall under the lunar calendar. It features a colorful lantern parade with floats and kites, plus crafts, live music, and dance teams; the highlight is the New Year Drone and Light Show on a huge screen, featuring “a fleet of color-changing drones creating amazing aerial formations synced to music,” along with immersive lights, lasers and special effects, and the whole thing is topped off by fireworks. Sounds like a blast.

This Asian-inspired festival pays tribute to the culture and New Year traditions of Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, and other countries that follow the lunar calendar. It features a special Lunar New Year Drone and Light Show on the largest screen in the world, a lighted parade, cultural craft activities, live entertainment, and other cultural elements.
