CRITIC’S PICK: Ghost: The Musical, Marietta’s New Theatre in the Square - Herewith another stage adaptation of a popular movie. The 1990 tearjerker starred Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore along with Whoopi Goldberg; the latter played a phony psychic and ended up winning an Oscar for the role. While the film famously used the classic ‘Unchained Melody’ as its theme song, this ‘Ghost’ boasts the music of Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard. The book is by Bruce Joel Rubin who also wrote the original screenplay.
Marietta’s New Theatre’s production is helmed by Michael Stewart and Chancelor Harbin; the lead actors are Rob Millerick as Sam and Rachel Jarrard as Molly, “displaying equal parts talent, chemistry, and infectious charm,” producers say. “This magnificent production reminds viewers that the connections we make in life can transcend even the boundaries of death.” - Kevin C. Madigan
